Simple garter stitch plus simple shaping makes a simply beautiful and casual shawl! Stephen West made this shawl on the beach during a vacation at Lido Itaca in Pineto, Italy. The Artisan linen lace created a fluid fabric that is perfect to wear as a casual wrap in warmer climates. The asymmetrical triangular shape is worked from tip to tip with stripes in the center .He found shells with holes on the beach that he incorporated into one of the shawl’s edges.
I have created several kits that incorporate great colors of lace yarn, seaglass, seed beads, and sea shells in order to create Stephen’s Shawl in a design that speaks to you. Join me for color blending and beading instruction. Decreases and increases will also come into play as well as color changing.
