Bad Oyster Shawlette Class

Regular price $35.00

INSTRUCTOR: Sandy LEVEL: Adv. Beginner FEE: $35.00 for 2 1-hour classes

Sunday August 21, 11am-Noon (PDT)

Sunday Sept 11, 11am-Noon (PDT)

Description: This pattern makes for excellent social knitting! One simple knit round with two basic increases means that this triangle shawl is very easy to pick up or put down and travels very well. Knit in the round, the shawl is eventually steeked to create its shape and to give it fringe.

This class is going to be offered in two one-hour-long classes. The first part will cover the cast-on, basic working in the round techniques, and the increase stitches. After that, we're going to leave you on your own to knit through the month.

We'll see you again in September for the real fun of this shawl. We're going to steek the shawls open! This is an excellent pattern for beginners to this technique, and for those who want to perfect their steeking skills! We are going to be taking Elizabeth Zimmerman's advice about starting your steek with a glass of wine (or coffee or tea or soft drinks).

Prerequisite:  You must be proficient in the Knit Stitch.  There will be no purl stitching.
