Meets Sunday Apr 9th 11-1 pmDescription:
Many of us learned how to knit by “throwing” our yarn: we hold the yarn in the right hand and wrap it around the right hand needle. Many people, however, find the continental method of “picking” to be easier and faster. You hold the yarn in the left hand and hook it with the right hand needle. I’ll teach you to knit and purl the continental way and then I’ll show you how to use that left hand to make stranded colorwork a snap.
Prerequisite: Must be able to knit and purl.
What you will learn:
How to knit and purl using the continental method.
How to strand colors using a combination of both methods.
Supplies: 50 yards each of 2 colors of worsted weight yarn and appropriate 16”circular needles.
Homework: Cast on 100 stitches. Join and knit one round
*** Please note that all yarn must be purchased at Knit This Purl That! 10 % off supplies for all classes.
