Join thousands of other knitters who have fallen in love with #lovenotesweater. This super cozy sweater is a fast knit with enough detail to be interesting and a gauge that flies off the needles. This pattern appeals to everyone because it is size inclusive (from newborn to 5XL) and has many options for sleeve, neckline and length. Make it your own. You can even make it without the lace.
Three 90-minute classes with open hours help sessions between classes to help you keep moving.
Class One: Before we knit - Being intentional with your pattern and yarn
Class Two: We knit - Casting-on and architecting your yolk
Class Three: Make it your own – body, sleeves and neckline
Class Focus: The class will focus on how to be intentional to plan and create a sweater you will love – both fit and fabric. We will explore how to personalize a pattern based on your yarn and personal preferences. You will create sample fabrics to help you select the yarn for your sweater. The techniques used will apply to the Love Notes pattern but you will find them relevant to any sweater you try next. Have you been shying away from knitting garments because you don’t think you will be happy with the results? These techniques will set you up for success.
Pattern: Love Notes by Tin Can Knits
Skill required for the class: cast-on, confident knit stitch, successful beginner projects completed, experience following a pattern.
Techniques the class with cover: sweater fitting, top down sweater, knit in the round, increases, decreases, simple lace, reading a chart, reading your knitting, holding two yarns together, provisional cast-on
Yarn and needles: This class includes a mini-skein kit with three completely different Manos Del Uruguay yarns – Merino and Mohair, Merino and Linen or Merino and Silk. You will knit a swatch of each to select your fabric and then select from many gorgeous colors for your sweater. The sweater is knit on size 7 and size 10 circular needles. (Needle size adjustments might be needed to get the correct gauge.)
