(NOTE: This class is extremely helpful if you plan on taking the Roiling Waters Class)
Why would you want to learn how to knit backward, you ask. The most common reason is to make life easy for Entrelac knitting, but it’s wonderful any time you need to knit a lot of rows with a small number of stitches. And once you know how, you will find endless times it comes in handy: the start or end of a diagonal scarf, those short short rows, the tops of buttonholes, the ear flaps on the Norwegian hat... But where I discovered it was wonderful: those patterns where it’s hard to read your knitting from the back. Remember that one cable down the center of that complicated Aran pullover that required one decrease when you were knitting the wrong side?
Prerequisites: Know how to cast on, and knit and purl.
What you will learn: Learn how to knit and purl backward: stitches knitted from the right needle and onto the left.
Supplies: Worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles.
HOMEWORK: Cast on 40 stitches and knit the first row.
*** Please note that all yarn must be purchased at Knit This Purl That! 10 % off supplies for all classes.
